How we handle cookies and visitor data

Necessary cookies
These are required for the site to work and are always set. They contain nothing that identifies you personally.

Analytics – requires your consent
Analytics cookies are only set if you accept the Analytics category. Before you choose, the Google tag loads in a cookieless mode: it stores nothing in your browser and sends no identifier, only the fact that a page was viewed. That helps us see which pages are used so we can improve them.

Company identification (Leadfeeder)
We use Leadfeeder (Dealfront) to see which companies have visited the site. The service looks up the visitor's IP address against a company register. It identifies organisations, not individuals, and we receive no name or contact details for you as a visitor.
This is based on legitimate interest (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)) – our interest in knowing which companies are interested in our services. Because an IP address can constitute personal data, you have the right to object to this processing.
To object, email us at info@trolle.app and we will exclude your traffic.
Ad click measurement
If you arrive from one of our ads, the link passes through an intermediate address (/go) that records the click before forwarding you. We store the time, the campaign's utm tags, the ad network's click ID, country, region, city, your internet provider's network (ASN), the referring page, your language setting and your browser's user agent. Nothing is stored in your browser and no cookie is set – the logging happens on our server.
The purpose is to compare what the ad networks bill us for against what our own server actually saw, and to detect click fraud. This rests on legitimate interest (GDPR art. 6.1 f). The data is held in a database inside the EU (Cloudflare D1) and deleted automatically after 12 months. To object, email info@trolle.app.
Change your choice
You can change what you allow at any time via the Cookie settings link at the bottom of the page. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.
Your rights
Email us at info@trolle.app if you want to know what we process about you, have it corrected or erased, or object to the processing. If you are not happy with how we handle it, you can turn to the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman in Finland.
